Lighting Options for Kids Rooms

It’s hard to believe we’ve made it to the part of the farm renovation where I need to pick lighting - getting closer!

The farm came with two beautiful, original, crystal chandeliers which will remain downstairs, but upstairs requires all new lighting. Downstairs will have a more elevated feel, but upstairs is the kids zone and I’m looking for more casual, but still classic, lighting options. There are three major things I am keeping in mind.

1. size - the ceilings are relatively low upstairs, a semi-flush mount is as large of or fixture as we can use.

2. budget - this is an area I am looking to save money, keeping fixtures $300 or less will save money and allow for splurges elsewhere.

3. safety - encased lightbulbs, so when things go flying in the kids rooms - it happens - there’s no worry of a shattered bulb (all of these options are encased except #2 - but I used this light in our bathroom at the JJ Pogue House and love it! It’s also a great price point at $100).

Above are the six lighting options I am considering for the kids rooms. I am leaning towards option #4, the antiqued silver farm light; it feels like it belongs in the 144 year old house in both shape and finish.

If you’re looking for lighting too, below are the links for each of the options!
