Maple Glazed Pecans

PAIRED WITH THESE DOWNLOADABLE GIFT TAGS, THESE PERFECTLY DELICIOUS PECANS ARE THE PERFECT GIFT.

There is something very special about gifting homemade goods around the holidays - these easy 5 ingredient maple glazed pecans are simple to put together and a treat everyone will appreciate and enjoy. They are delicious alone, on a cheese board, or in a salad. Put them on top of your cinnamon rolls or into these pancakes Christmas morning!

I tweaked the recipe a bit to use zero refined sugars. I love candied pecans…don’t we all? I also am trying to use more natural sweetener. These pecans are perfectly sweet, crunchy, and won’t put you on the sugar rollercoaster. If you’re like me and trying to make more better-for-you goodies (that don’t sacrifice taste!), this recipe is for you!

2 cups raw pecan halves

1/2 cup real maple syrup

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

coconut sugar for sprinkling

*optional 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all the ingredients (including cayenne pepper if using). Mix the pecans, maple syrup, and spices until they are evenly coated and the cinnamon and salt have mostly dissolved into the syrup.

  • Continue to cook the mixture over medium or medium low - keep the mixture at a low simmer for around 20 minutes, stirring every couple minutes.

  • When the syrup crystalizes on the pecans and is completely evaporated in the pan, cook for one more minute stirring constantly.

  • Pour the pecans evenly onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

  • Immediately sprinkle the pecans with coconut sugar - I used about 2 tablespoons, feel free to use as much or as little as you'd like.

  • Let the pecans cool completely (room temperature) and store in airtight container. They are now ready to enjoy or gift!

optional: add Maldon salt with coconut sugar at the end!

MAPLE GLAZED PECANS AS GIFTS

After the pecans were cooled I began to assemble them as gifts! I used THESE jars to store them in, wrapped the jars with THIS ribbon and topped with the gift tag I made (print + cut out tags, download file below). Here are a couple more jar and ribbon options I like. You can grab mason jars at your local grocery store as well!
